SMSHE offers educational meetings and events from October through June each year. Our educational meetings are designed to provide to our members and guests information regarding regulatory compliance and new technology designed for healthcare facilities. Lunch is provided at the meetings by SMSHE, or the presenter. Our meetings are typically held at the Engineering Society of Detroit in Southfield, or Glen Oaks Country Club in Farmington Hills.

Other events provided by SMSHE are our Vegas Night, holiday luncheon and networking event, SMSHE Schmooze (in conjunction with the AIA Healthcare conference), and our annual golf outing.

PRESENTATION:

ICRA Containment and Classifications in Todays Healthcare Setting

Synopsis:

This presentation provides a concise exploration of the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) framework, focusing on its practical application in the construction and renovation of hospitals and healthcare facilities. It will cover three key areas: the implementation of ICRA in real-world scenarios, a thorough review of the ICRA Checklist to ensure compliance and safety, and an overview of specific ICRA requirements mandated for healthcare construction projects.

Through case studies and discussion, participants will gain insights into best practices for risk assessment, the critical roles of various stakeholders, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to safeguard patient health during construction activities. This session is ideal for healthcare facility managers, construction project managers, infection control specialists, and regulatory compliance officers involved in hospital projects.
